Leonard Kreusch started exporting their wines to the US after the repeal of prohibition in 1933 and through their US import company, they still import their wines produced from the Rhine Valley and Mosel in Germany.

The first wines were made under the SIMI name in 1876 in Healdsburg, Alexander Valley, California.
