Leonard Kreusch started exporting their wines to the US after the repeal of prohibition in 1933 and through their US import company, they still import their wines produced from the Rhine Valley and Mosel in Germany.
This historical bottle would make a fun gift!
"Bittersweet, smoky herbal and nutty notes, along with an ore-like sense of deep mineral earthiness, serve as ideal foils for generously juicy ripe white peach and bright Meyer lemon. The feel is full and firm, and the finish is superbly multileveled, but with a strong emphasis on darkly earthy and minerally low-tones whose resonance sets the tongue and tonsils quivering....
A perfect balance of fruit, depth and fresh acidity. The favors of juicy bright peach compliment the slightly spicy finish. A versatile wine that is perfect both for an afternoon cocktail hour as well as a great wine for a dinner party.
